MORE WELDING

This should hopefully mark the end of all the welding that needs to be done on this project.

First up was shortening the kickstand as the bike sits a whole lot lower than originally.

Next was restricting the steering movement. The new bars sit low and hit the fuel tank at full lock. A few dabs of weld either side of the existing stop quickly solved this problem.

At full lock the bars just clear the tank. Perfect!

Moving onto the rear brake master cylinder. I cut the bracket off the old frame and have welded it onto a piece of pipe to the frame. Trying to keep the cylinder mount parallel to the frame keeps things looking neat. It might look a little rough now but after a bit of grinding with the Dremel and a coat of paint, it should look schmick.

Last but not least was installing a mount for the rear brake fluid reservoir. I will be extending the pipe so that it sits behind the thicker subframe out of sight as best as possible.

The bike is booked in to have exhaust work done next weekend, that means this coming week will be electrics. When I say electrics, I mean just the basics so that I can get the engine started!
