INSTALLATION OF HANDLEBARS

I took a trip to Mostyn Industries this weekend and picked up a set of Clubman style handlebars, pair of grips and a set of mirrors. As I have learnt through this entire process, nothing is going to fit just perfectly.

The bars hit the fuel tank before the steering tree stops. It isn't cutting down on my turning circle too much but I can't have the bars rub the tank. I will have to weld the stoppers bigger so that the bars stop before they hit the tank. For some reason my throttle body tube is tight on the new bars and won't spin. Looks like I will have to pick up a new one.

Regardless of these two new setbacks, I am still very please with the bars. The guys down at Mostyn Industries let me try on several pairs until I found the one I wanted. Here is the end result.

When resembling the bike, I noticed the rear brake leaver rubbed on the kick start rod and the engine case.

I picked up a slightly longer spring from my local hardware store which has solved my problem.

Much better.

I have a lot of Uni to get done over the next month so unfortunately progress will be slow however the bike does provide a good point of stress relief and is ideal when procrastinating!
