I plan on painting all the smaller parts on the bike myself and have the frame, tank and seat professionally done. First up is getting the hubs painted so I can lace the new rim to the rear and get the new tyres fitted. Cleaning the old hubs was a combination of degreaser, paint stripper, turps and wire brushes. The plan is to apply two coats of etch primer followed by 3 coats of epoxy gloss black to match the Excel rims. So far I have the second coat of primer down on both hubs.
I have also ordered new bearings for both the front and rear. They were in reasonable good nick but fresh is best. Besides from working on the hubs I have also installed the mirrors.
