MOUNT UP

Managed to get a bit of work done on the bike today, however not as much as I hoped. My mate who picked up the CR250 dropped by for the weekend and we got to work replacing the linkage bearings, kill switch and tuning up the carby; obviously we had to go for a ride once it was all back together.

Here is the 01' CR250, plenty of more work to be done on this one over the next few weeks.

Bit of TLC after a good ride.

With the riding out of the way it was time to get some work done on the XR600. I did't get as much done as I was hoping but progress was made none the less. Getting the tank perfectly aligned was tedious work and much harder than I had thought but got there in the end. The front rim had to be chocked up 90 mm to reflect the wall height of the wheel that will eventually go on there, so that when it's all complete the tank and seat should be parallel to the ground.

Next was getting the rails for the seat set up. A bit of pipe, a rubber mallet and trial and error was all that was needed to get these rails made up.

Unfortunately the afternoons don't last long as we come into winter so this is as much that was achieved today. The planning, tank mount and rails was the hard part, the rest should be pretty straight forward; unfortunately I won't be able to get back to it until next weekend.
