I always knew cleaning the carby would be tedious but I was not expecting it to take this much time. One side was a breeze however, the opposite side with the throttle body proved to be much more difficult.
Never the less, I finally got there.
I used wire brushes attached the the dremel to quickly remove the the old grime and bring out the clean material beneath. I then switched to a 2000 grit wet sand paper which really brought out the shine. To finish it off I used a buffing attachment on the dremel with Autosol polish. Needless to say, I was very pleased with the end result.
The gaskets and rubber seals were all beginning to perish. A carby repair kit set me back $25 from ebay.
My next goal is to remove the engine and clean it up.
